Rudolf Schenker, founded his first band in 1965, was influenced, like many boys of the postwar period, the invasion of Germany in typical U.S. fashion, including jeans, chewing gum but also Rock music. In addition, the boy from his youth had the irresistible desire to take an electric guitar and playing in front of large audiences. Following in the footsteps of the Beatles in the 60s had left the music scene, Rudolf Schenker, supported by their parents, he founded the band in its plans that would scale the heights of the music, or the Scorpions.
Rudy's brother, Michael and his friend Matthias Jabs, meanwhile were very attracted by the rock culture that was beginning to emerge in those days. Rudy Schenker, who was the guitarist and composer of songs for his as yet unknown group, wrote inspired by bands present on the music scene in those years as the Yardbirds, Pretty Things and Spooky Tooth, a band that he wanted to at least emulate. Until in 1969, after finally renamed the group Scorpions, hired his younger brother Michael and vocalist Klaus Meine and began to refine his music royalties.
In 1972 the group was ready for the official debut in the music scene, released his debut album, entitled Lonesome Crow with Lothar Heimberg Dziony Wolfgang on bass and drums.
The album was a moderate success and the Scorpions found themselves in a short time to be among the greatest exponents of the Hard Rock German period, although the language used was English, used instead of German because all major groups of the time they sang in that language. This language was also used to understand the texts to a greater slice of people, which led just Lonesome Crow to be a good week with the passing of international success, selling 25000.copie.
During the 136 dates Lonesome Crow tour, Scorpions played alongside many stages of the British band UFO. This group offered an important job as lead guitarist Michael Schenker, who decided therefore to leave the group being replaced temporarily by Ulrich Roth, a virtuoso guitarist who previously was a member and founder of Dawn Road.
Schenker's departure meant that the Scorpions were to melt. In 1973, Uli Roth got an offer from Rudolf to re-group but the guitarist chose to stay loyal to his band Dawn Road. Roth, who wanted to work with Schenker, however, invited the musician to join his group. With a little 'hesitation, Rudolf accepted and completed the formation of the band alongside the bassist Francis Buchholz and Rosenthal albatterista Jrgen.
After a few weeks, the singer Klaus Meine was included in the training band and decided to rename it again Scorpions, being now a famous name in the underground German Hard Rock thanks to the previous publication.
